Sth Aust drivers (P platers under 25) to be banned from driving high powered cars

Its clearly says in the article the laws come into effect in September (27th i think). Anyone who gets their P's AFTER this time, is restricted to driving those cars, if they are under 25. Once your off P's, or older than 25, you can drive whatever.

Clearly says it, but lets face it, we will still get stupid questions.

Says in the article only 2 other states have these restrictions, so we beat a few of them (or the rest just aren't stupid enough to believe th crap from the first 2 states :p)

These sort of laws are completely ridiculous though. The same in-experienced driver can kill themselves and others as easily in a Hyundai Excel as they can in HSV. Arguably easier due to the lower safety of such small cars. The problem is DRIVER EDUCATION and ATTITUDES of young drivers, not the cars.

When are governments going to wake up and realise that?

Totaly agree with that.

why would you think these laws are ridiculous? they are trying to save lives, if your driving a hyundai excel, you will be less tempted to drive as fast as if you were driving a HSV, quit sooking about it and accept it
