yeah i want this engine to look mint. probably paint the block black. polish everything up, or get some silver paint, etc.
hopefully get it running in 2-3 weeks. depends on what i decide to do. considering buying a reco T5 box for it, but wont be cheap. just finished modifying the caprice centre console lid for it, with the cup holders built into it

heads are getting machined at the moment. getting 0.060" taken off the heads, and 0.042 off the manifold. cant do a lot until i get them back, and get a gasket kit, so ive started polishing bits, and cleaning everything i can find.

yeah id be careful with the chains on the deck surface, a few minor scratches and you've got some problems in the future.. also make sure you blast the oil galleries with compressed air, id be covering the motor up in glad wrap/garbage bag when not working on it to prevent any crap from entering the oil system. looks good tho! played swapsies with the valve springs yet?

Do you still have much piston to valve clearance once taking 60Thou off heads using that cam, i was just lookin at that exact cam about 30mins ago and thinkin of taking same amount off. Was that how much the machine said would be alright?

on stock unmachined heads 60thou is about the max you can go

latest update. engine is back together. struts ready to go in. should hopefully have it all running within a week. forgot to take my good camera with me today, so just camera phone photos for now
