keys are missing, and was stolen from his car lot. i dont think a mechanic is that stupid to **** where he eats and have such a **** excuse.

more than likely mechanic left keys is car (like alot do) and forgot to remove them and someone saw an easy target.


hope you have insurance, or car comes back.

I would expect the mechanic's insurance should be coughing up.

I imagine there will be something somewhere that states your car is left on the premises at your own risk to negate the workshop having to take responsibility.

I imagine there would be more than enough justification to say that whilst in the workshops care, after hours the car should be properly locked and have not have the key sitting in the ignition.

A disclaimer by the work shop on a piece of paper is worth nothing. They still have a duty if care. Just like the diclaimers car park facilities try to get away with. Most people believe it's true so the provider wins.
