Its probably one of those "I want a reason to pull you over" things...

I think most police would just accept that if you can see it easily, thats good enough, but there will always be a few who need an excuse to pull over a P plater... and what better?

P plates are now mandatory for new license holders in Queensland I think... I hope they don't get that picky up here, not that it will affect me.

mine are at the bottom of the front window n rear window. i looked on the vicroads website and this is what it says

Driving on a probationary licence
After you pass your tests you will be issued with a probationary licence which allows you to drive under certain conditions. While driving you must:

have a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .00%
not drive high powered vehicles
display ‘P’ plates on the front and back of the vehicle
carry your driver licence with you
can only drive a vehicle with automatic transmission if the test was passed in an automatic vehicle. (Does not apply if you have previously held a manual licence)

so aslong there on the front n back of the windows its fine and not postion.

Nothing :'(
^ I think I should move the one on my rear because my tint is really dark.
One night I had a police car behind me for a little while with one of my break lights out, surely if they had seen the P they would have pulled me over. :p

Good to know that I'm not the only one who displays my P's differently

Mine are,

Middle Left of the window

Rear, left OUTSIDE of window, taped on.

I got down for having it behind the tint ( at night ironically enough )
3 demerit points and a 120 bucks (FAAANTASTIC)

The bloke was just looking for a reason to ping me.

padrickz, the girls get away with everything :p

Trei, Usually the police are ok about that. Maybe you got the wrong one on the wrong night. Just hold on to your remaining 2 points for dear life!!

NSW P Plates:

Have P plates (Red/Green P on white background) displayed conspicuously at the front and rear of the car when driving. If placing P signs on windows, they must be held against the glass, be displayed conspicuously in the lower left-hand (passenger) side of the windscreen and on the lower left-hand side of the rear facing window and must not be placed on any other part of the window area. If towing a trailer, a P plate must be on the back of the trailer.

My rear P Plate is illegal :( But they won't pull me up as I have 2 on the rear :D
