Oh ok, thanks everyone on that point of finding it at Bunnings as I went to their website and punched in Acetone and it came up with everything else but Acetone, oh well another Seniors moment, must change medication.

^ not a senior’s moment, it’s just Bunnings website search is crap.

I find it much better to use Google search and include the sellers name along with the product. Something like “Bunnings Acetone” works well and Google is smart enough to fix my spelling mistakes in the process ;)

Have you managed to free that troublesome lifter to determine what the issue was to begin with? Or did you file it in the bin?:)

Hi VC,

Believe it or not it's still stuck rock solid and just won't budge. can't believe it myself. It's still sitting submerged in thinners on the bench in a sealed jar and gets taken out and slammed into the piece of jarrah that I have on the solid bench.

I'm not giving up on it any time soon.

Fook.....I can't believe it's still stuck fast after all this time.....Makes me wonder whether the inner piece of the lifter is bent out of shape, causing it to jam itself inside the outer casing.

If it was me, I'd be tempted to drill a hole through the base of the lifter and see if any crap comes out and perhaps use a centre punch to persuade the inner to move upwards.

Food for thought:)
