I'm looking for a windscreen shade to fit my ZB. Most of the shades you can buy don't have a big enough cut out for the rear view mirror/rain detection unit.

The Holden one doesn't appear to be available in NZ and even then it is a an eye watering $120AUD.

What/where has anyone found that fits properly?

While on this topic what recommendations are there for the rear and side windows. I found this but am sceptical about how they fit as I don't think there's anywhere for the magnets to stick to. Also the England used in the description makes me think it is of Chinese origin rather than being European as the name might suggest.

For sides & rears, why you no tint ?

Not sure what state you are in but in WA you can legally go down to 20% on all rear windows (windscreen = no tint and front driver & passenger = 35%)

Check your local regs for legal application where you are.

I see so many cars where the tints start to bubble/peal and they look like cr@p.

At present my main interest is in the windscreen shade. If anyone has any suggestions here that would be much appreciated.

That's coz poor tint.

I've never had tint do that. The tint on my VS was 19 yrs old and never had a problem. The tint on the family bus is nearly 13 yrs old and also no problems.

Thanks. Perhaps the ones I'd seen were poor DIY jobs. I'll investigate that option.

Meantime any feedback on the windscreen shades?

The pop up sun shades are the best, but almost all of them are stupidly small for modern windscreens. So I use three of them, two on one side spread slightly apart so they don't fall down.

Supercheap have the silver fold up ones that fit well for VE.

I’m in Western Australia, and have struggled to order the ZB sunshade as shown on Holden’s website. All but one dealer in WA could not supply or order it. They said they were no longer available. I pushed and spoke to Holden who seemed shocked at that and said they are still available, and for me to give them the details of my local dealer and they’ll check in and see what the trouble is.

Luckily, however, I spoke to the last dealer here I hadn’t yet called and they managed to order me one (but it sounded like it was hard to track down).

It arrived after about a week, and cost me $168 total (about $20 for freight ordering), which means there was a $28 markup, but I’m happy as this guard covers the windshield and dash perfectly - there’s no gaps and it matches the shape of the shield, mirror and camera unit. It doesn’t sag, feels extremely strong and premium, and comes with a cover for storage in the car.

The dealer was Gibbons Holden in Armadale, WA. Not sure if they’ll deliver to you in NZ for a charge, but it’s worth a try. Otherwise, message Holden on Facebook and see what they can do.

If it helps, the sunshade is COVERCRAFT UVS100 Custom Sunscreen branded. Their website is www.covercraft.com. You might be able to ask them for info/options.

Thank you for the reply.

In the end I bought one from Supercheap and modified it. My wife very nicely sewed new edging where I had chopped and channelled.
