It's the tailshaft flange on the gearbox. The flange has to be removed, cleaned up and refitted with Loctite on the splines. There's a Service Bulletin with the full procedure to fix the clunk.
Where can I find the service bulletin to fix this?

I’m not getting any vibration. Just a spinning type noise (gurgling) at around 60-100kmph along with the dull clunking noises
Any leaks from under the car?

Could be torque converter issues if there is a gurgling sound

Yep, box has to come out

Torque converter is sandwiched between the box and the flex plate at the back of the engine, inside the bell housing.

If there is gurgling and noise coming from the trans, id suspect that something inside the converter may have let go, might need to take it to a trans specialist if its not throwing any codes.

As RevNev mentioned, there is a service bulletin for that nut at the end of the box, however when I checked my Dec 15 build SV6, it wasn't applicable. I think they sorted it later in 2015 so might not apply to your car if built later than that.

I can't recall a date range on the clunk bulletin for VF V6's. The car we did was a Nov 15 VF2 SV6 and Loctiting the tailshaft flange as per the bulletin, fixed the clunk from drive to reverse gear.

That was going by the VIN number in the ACDelco TDS system. When id add in a VIN from a mid 2015 VF1 SV6, it would show the clunk fix bulletin. When I checked it with my VF2 Dec15 SV6 and a family members Aug17 SV6, it didn't show up under applicable the relevant service bulletins. Possibly tied to VIN as opposed to date (Or the system isn't entirely accurate)

I actually got the parts (including a new trans rear seal) to do the fix when I had the tail shaft out swapping in an LSD, but didn't end up doing it. May do so in the future.

Would an electronic diagnosis light up a fault in the torque converter? I have no engine lights or anything else that’s come up - the noise that I’m hearing is like a spinning, low whirring noise at speeds from 40-100. Very hard to listen to unless you put your head down on the gear box while driving. How much would I be looking at to take the gear box out and put a new torque converter
