Swapping VE Leo engine with a VZ Leo engine

Hi I have a Holden VE 2007 commodore and the engine needs replacing.
I brought another engine but discovered it’s from a VZ. If I change all the wiring to the original VE wiring will the engine itself still run as normal. Thanks in advance, Mark

VFs don't have LE0 engines.
So the VF engine won't work.

Hi thanks for the reply, sorry it’s a Holden VZ Leo engine not VF. My fault my phone autocorrected after searching vf’s.

Mostly just wanted to know if the timing gear, cams, valves were the same inside all Leo v6 engines or do they vary more than just the electrics. Thanks again mate

I think very early VZ had different reluctors for the cams.later VZ are fine.

You need to swap all your sensors over and the intake plenum which mounts a different throttle body.

I noticed that was different I’ll pretty much strip the VZ then take off the ve parts and assembly it that way. Do you know about the sumps it’s looking like I’ll need to swap them over. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it

Yes. Swap the sumps.
Of course you will clean the pickup as well.
