i think the only difference in the cat back is it runs an extra twin in and out muffler where the old exhaust just had 2 small hot dogs? don't change the stock system anyway it will sound awful.

Do VE SS Stock Exhaust drone if put on Sv6?

As the heading states, a friend of mine will be able to get a new system installed on his SS if I buy his factory mufflers, only will buy them if they wont drone. (His SS is not AFM)

Cheers

I have a 3L SIDI and put on Clubby mufflers.... no drone, just a little deeper/louder (but still quieter than aftermarket sports mufflers).

I think you'll be fine, but try them anyway.... takes next to no time to change the mufflers over. 2 bolts and then just slide it off the rubber gromets. i did both my mufflers in like 1/2 hour, and that was stuffing about taking pictures and getting drinks etc. ;)
Give them a good go (get them nice and hot), and then if you dont like them swap them out again. But seriously, I reckon they'll be fine.
