now the proud owner of a d3. damn comfy.
makes the wallet feel lighter aswell (just noticed, it has the price in the pic. it was that price from BMXMAD. most stockists in aus wanted about $570-600 for it.) =P

currently looking at a reverb dropper seatpost for the commencal, then thatll probably be it for it for a while.
basically. its a remote operated item that changes the seatpost height. slammed for when going down the hills. up for when pedalling.

ok it was a slight lie on the last bike.
either going to be getting 1 more, a 24inch cruiser bmx race bike brand new or 2nd hand. as im about to start racing again.
basically its replacing the old Norco bike (which is for sale) as 20 inch wheels are way to small. especially when you have been riding 26 inch wheels for the past 4 odd years.

so small update.
reverb dropper post for commencal ordered. price isnt cheap, but its certainly going to be worth it.
about to start bmx racing again (read above)
and should be going to the next Vic DH series meet and start racing in that on the commencal.

that is all =P

so over the weekend did the Vic downhill at Maldon on the bike.
was good fun.
now its covered in dust/dirt but did some damage.
by damage, i hit a rock garden, and must have hit a rock pretty hard side on against the rim. has a nice dent in a part of it. going to go see what they recommend.
hopefully its an easy fix. or could mean a new set of rims. ill wait and see.

going to take it up to the next VDHS meet though. not the best bike for it, but its fun and thats all that matters.
not many people were running a single crown fork.
but i want to keep it so i can ride everywhere aswell. so a real all round bike.

also ordered these.
100% racecraft barcode goggles.
ordered the wrong ones by mistake. wanted the ones with the red mirror lense. (which would have had the clear lense included)
ordered the clear lense only option instead. meh just means buying an extra lense =P
*note: that nose part does come off, its just for added protection

top pic has the mirrored lense.
racecraft-barcode-both.jpg

also need to buy some riding pants after copping a pedal to the shins.
will hopefully get them next weekend. FLY Racing pants.
and will hopefully also mean getting the 24inch cruiser at the same time (same shop)

EDIT:
reverb dropper being installed tomorrow.
will get a pic up once its done.

so sort of an update.

goggles have arrived. pretty good looking i must say.
have chucked 2 tearoffs on them.
1st to protect screen. 2nd is to actually tear off if they get dirty.

pic with helmet:

and guess i havent posted up a pic of it in a while.
how it looked before putting the dropper post on, straight after the VDHS round at Maldon. so it was absolutely filthy.

probably going to leave it like it is for a while now. unless anything breaks.
wouldnt be surprised if new rims are on the way. put a nice dent in the rear rim from the rocks =P
or if i can get a hold of some raceface bars/cranks for cheap. loving the look of their Atlas gear.

should have some bmx gear on the way soon aswell.

sorta an update:
commencal. brakes are squeeling horribly, probably glazed the pads from the intense heat :p
so going to take it into the shop, see what they have to say, probably just new pads to start with.
also looking at new brakes. going to have a chat with them, probably going to have to source then online, because $1000 for 2 calipers/levers instore seems a bit. (about $400 online) then just need ot get the correct rotors/pads. but ill look into it.

and the old STP.
having jumped back on it for a bit, its mad fun.
so easy to throw around now since learning a bit more on the commencal. even being able to kick it out both ways, which is harder then it looks
slippery pavers/surfaces after rain, slam on the rear brakes and have it full drifting 90 degrees, both feet on the pedals, scary but hella fun.
now to get back onto it more and try a few more things.

also.
bought a new shock pump.
hopefully will mean i can fiddle around with the suspension, and be able to make it stiff enough for decent XC riding, not major, but enough that it is pedalable uphills.

semi update:
next bike is going to be a 2013 FELT sector 24 for BMX cruiser racing.
just need to go to the shop and hand over the cash and bring it home (if not itll be ordered at the store)
first upgrade shall be pedals and maybe grips. should go nicely.

have been on the STP at the BMX track practicing a bit, because the sizing and lines to take will be very similar.
although the FELT will be lighter, making popping the front wheel up to manual alot easier, maybe even increasing speed available to clear some of the more minor jumps.

looks like this:

large_Eurobike_2012_Hope_V4_2013-5.jpg

Hope_Tech_EVO_M4-3001.jpg

Hope Evo V4.
4 piston calipers.
rotors will be 203mm

or itll be the Hope Evo M4's
which is the little brother of these (still 4 piston calipers)

should stop well
might not be until after the next Downhill ride.

picked up the FELT.
felt good to ride. feels like the STP, but with a longer frame, which is good as im more willing to trial things on the STP as i dont mind having a stack on that (although id rather not stack at all) :p

took it down to practice yesterday.
still got the old skill on the gate. give it a few more practices and it should be much better with the snap out of the gate.
was windy but still cleared a few jumps, just need to get a bit smoother/more balls to hit a few other jumps
v brakes though. have no stopping power compared to disc brakes, so it was a massive change.

new parts have already been ordered for it.
grips - odi bmx ruffians in black
pedals - nukeproof flats alloy/titanium which should be good. the blackspires werent available :/
tubes- because i know ill get flats.

will post pics when i get back.
oh and i will be ordering the Hope Evos for the commencal. just need to go in and order. cant have enough stopping power! :p

PICS!

all those parts were stripped off it.
