Wow that sidewall rubs inside somewhere...

CLEARANCE TIME!

I would like to think that I am aware enough to have heard any rubbing.

If there are clearance issues they should be on the outside of the tyre as the wheels are ET13. Stock is ET20. The wheels are the same width as the original wheels which were also ET20.

I think that the wear mark you are referring to is just from the run down and pull over phase of the incident, as it's only on the section of the tyre that has folded under itself..

Looks a little like a low profile tyre being run under inflated.

Took a short two weeks in between me checking pressures to lose one like that.

The wheels are the same width as factory.

False, You never had factory wheels on the car not even in your first post.

I have reworded my statement for additional clarity. And for the record, I drove around with 15 x 7 style 2 factory wheels on my car for at least 16 months. Numerous people would have seen them at the PM meets.

You can also see them in the photos from the Mt Hotham daytrip thread.

Now that I am making some progress through the upgrade list of no less than 36 incandescent bulbs (not including dash or instrumentation) that BMW have tucked away in various parts of the car, I have reached the point where the dash warnings are more than a little annoying.

Rather than use hot, power hungry resistors to trick the monitoring electronics into thinking that 19th century technology is still happily doing its thing, I figured it might be more 'effizient' for me to modify the monitoring circuits themselves. After all, one of the reasons I am upgrading the lights is to reduce battery load.

So, enter the E34 LKM (Licht Kontrolle Modul) or Light Control Module.

Here's my attempt at mangulating it into STFU or GTFO status:

Basically I have used tinned copper wire to short the relevant logic pins to ground, in effect forcing the IC into 'thinking' the current draw of the old lamps is still present. The modification pictured is for tail, brake, rear fog and number plate lights.
I will add more wire as the list of completed upgrades grows.

Straßenseite bequemlichkeit

42mm C10W 'Festoon' 12 LED Array rated at 320 lumen.

Makes a great replacement for the engine compartment light BMW supplied. Such pittiful output (100 lm). Hah, what losers!

These shots were taken with all the garage lights out. Without the illumination from the new array it would be complete darkness.
