I mean seriously. I just don't get what on earth this stupid idea was ever taken up.
If someone wants to steal my roof racks, they are going to go to friggin Bunnings ( if they haven't already ) and get themselves a tamperproof hex bit to suit the roof racks they want.
As it happens I would like to move my roof racks and can't seem to find my key. I do have a matching in hex bit but alas ITS NOT a tamper proof one.
While I am at it, this bitch and whine, how did they come to put the word "proof" in next to tamper , tamper "proof" what a load of rubbish.

Once upon a time they would have been tamper proof but with the proliferation of cheap tools in this modern age there is no such thing anymore.

I have a set of Teng torx bits that would fit on your rails. Might be an idea to add them to your tool list, after you buy the spanners.

isn't that how with the normal torx bits there is that size that isn't a multiple of 5 (27), but were actually originally a propriety size for a particular motorcycle brand?

a good one if you can ever find it is a 7mm allen key.
one of the most famous brands of bicycle cranks used it for a while.

I agree the 'tamper proof' label is incorrect but improvising security torx bits is practically impossible. Improvisation is the mother of skulduggery.
