i'd rather be ripped off by a dealer than have my head ripped off as it slams through the windscreen.

also, dont' buy second hand belts. as far as i know, it is illegal to sell them anyway. they might have been in an accident and stretched.

They (used to anyway) have a patch on them and when the belts were impacted in an accident the patch would tear. This was a fool proof way of saying that the belt should be replaced. I don't know if they still use that system. Either way, 2nd hand seatbelts are about as daft as showering with your socks on.

Well yes and no, it is good to buy a new belt but why pay 50 more and shop A when you can buy it cheaper at shop B, nothing wrong with finding it somewhere else cheaper. Though I am trying Hako's trick tonight, Maa's wool wash with Euco freshness then lush fabric softner to give it that natural shine and silky smooth baby bum feel. The second half of the belt gets retracted ok so previous owner must of had too much makup or pimples and black heads. hah.

Nothing wrong with that at all if you are comparing the same thing. I suppose it depends on how much you value your time. I'd grab a yellow pages, ring around a few places and just get one.

You know what I mean and how Holden try to rip you off, there is nothing wrong with bargain hunting, I'm not a tight arse but I won't get ripped off by these tossers, but everyone to their own, if you enjoy getting ripped off then so be it, yes I am the type to call around.

As for the washing the belt trick, it didn't work for me, only thing it left me was a nice fragrance of Eucalyptus.

Your neck is worth $50 but not $100??? IMHO seatbelts are not something you try to save money on but then again I also value myself a lot higher than $100.

Well now I know how much they roughly cost I will buy one no matter what after I scout around a bit.
