Done a v8 auto conversion out of a stato into a vs ute v6 / getrag shell

Everything works just not the speedo
Ute has v6 cluster with not tacho S1

I have put the cluster out of the stato in the ute and tacho works on that but still no speedo

Did you connect the speed sensor?

Used the complete v8 and auto k frame and ecu out of vs stato and connected the one plug and two ecu plugs in passenger side kick panel and also the two in engine bay on drivers side

Everything else works runs and drives

Have tested the speed signal at the ecu and that’s working just doesn’t work on the dash

Are you saying the v6 dash needs a v6 speed sensor are they a different signals ?

prob need the signal from the ecu taken to the dash there is a signal in and out, purple with white trace should be out of ecu should connect to the speedo make sure u have that, right side kick panel area loom up to the dash should have a purple with white trace if that dosnt currently have speed signal then thats ur issue need to join them up

No they're all the same between VS - the temp gauge will read slightly differently and the tacho will be out (but can be rectified by moving resistors). Getrag and 4l60e use the same signal type. You can even run the getrag using the auto loom, as I've successfully done.

it’s bit weird because nothing has changed on the car speedo worked fine before v8 swap

Is the signal from ecu to the dash the same v6 to v8 ?

The purple / white wire out of ecu lines up with the same colour at the plug in the left kick panel

The temp and fuel gauge work

The signal doesn’t go from the ecu to cluster from memory. It goes from the sensor to the cluster directly. I think only the early models pre vs ran through the ecu…

the early 3 wire sensor was correct pulses direct to the speedo, the vr vs auto had too many pulses to go direct, but either way that purple white wire to cluster has to have pulse to it for speedo to work

Other way round...vn/p have external circuit that goes up trans tunnel to dash plug on forewall (divide by thingamajig)

vr/s goes through harness into ecu to dash plug near glovebox onto dash etc

As long as no fault codes come up no speedo issue will be something to do with wiring, plug connector or dash speedo...unplug/plug & jiggle everything just go over it all again hopefully fluke fix

Been over the wiring many times checked the plugs a few times as well next will prob the purple/ white wire from kick panel to the plug on back of the cluster to rule that out

Any one got a wire schematic for the dash with pinouts want to check earths next

V6 L1 cluster same as v8 mate has a v8 cluster might swap it in to try as well
