Where's the best place to feed a vacuum line through the firewall?
I've bought a mechanical vacuum gauge and need a feed from the engine to the gauge. Some youtube searches have shown the best place to tap in for the reading, but I haven't been able to find where I can feed it through into the cabin, without it getting crushed.

There’s already one in the car.
Tap into it on the side of the centre console on drivers side.

It runs into the vacuum actuator. It’s a white gadget mounted up in there. Have a look on eBay so you can see what they look like. Follow the hose back to be sure you have the pre actuator side.

The vacuum lines are used for the HVAC.

Will have to have a look. Found a few good diagrams online for that systems though. Would save a hell of a lot of work too.

Oh but hang on. That is fed via a line with a vacuum check valve near the brake booster.

You could put a T in (4mm retic T does the job well) and run the line across the firewall to the passenger side and access via that grommet 07GTS mentioned.

As it happens, I posted a photo of the other day.

Edit: Cant find it so this shows the rough location. It’s about the size of a 10c piece.
