I should mention, you can still drive the car like that, just unscrew the centre trim from the facia and pop the headunit facia back on.

Thanks Fu

OK finally got it off with a bit of grunt. Now on to the real problem .

The whole reason behind all this is that there is something rolling about when I take corners. I'm convinced its coming from the central air vents, or more likely wherever they lead.

Having a lot more access now I've pulled half the dash off , I'm wondering if this is where the central vents lead to ?

You remind me of that ad on telly where this guy strips his car because he can hear something rolling around only to find out it was his girlfriend's earnings in the ashtray ...........Just out of interest do you have the smokers pack fitted ?

My neighbour had a rolling noise when changing direction on his S11 VE a few years back, local GMH Dealer found it was a kids toy rolling around near the lower part of the front guard, there is a gap alongside the air intake in the engine bay where things can fall down.Just a possibility.

I doubt much can fall through because a screw or object can’t fall through because it has to pas through the evaporator core and then the heater core.

Those ducts under the instrument pad things can only be accessed from the side near the doors where the vents lead to.

If the sound is coming from lower down maybe some kid has shoved something down the rear air vents?

Those ducts can only be removed by removing the centre console.
