Pajero LWB Wagon, Power/economy what's that ???
Had the chance to speak my Dad's mate (Holden Dealer) on the weekend.
First off he wouldn't let me drive a VE even though I asked nicely.

This is what he said in regard to the suspension (Please note that I did not make the comments, I'm just imparting the info he told me)

The sports suspension is still referred to as FE2 but is listed only as "Sports Suspension" on brochures and other literature available to the public.
Supposedly the reasons for this are twofold.
First by dropping the code name there is no perceived link to parts used on previous models which helps the car to be seen by prospective buyers as a brand new model from the ground up.
Secondly quite simply is the belief that "Sports Suspension" leaves no doubt as to what it means and the "sports" connotations (with the implied better handling) appeal to more prospective buyers.

FE2 is the designation for Sports suspension.

Through VT-VZ the components of Sports Suspension changed susch and link rod rear, improved strentgh in control rods and so on yet the package designation code remained FE2.

Just like G80 is an LSD, C60 is aircon, C95 is Dome readin lamp of Calais and so on.

Then again why not call it FE3 now?;)

Now why didn't Holden think of that? "All new FE3 Sports Suspension"...

Wonder if the 9C1 code will evolve again as it did when the VT was released (changed from BT1 to 9C1).

They did with the VY- they changed it to 914- very bland, given that 9C1 is an international GM designation for Police Packs.

VY and VZ is still 9C1 isnt it? It still says 9C1 on the unofficial holden commodore archive?

The UHCA is just a big cut and paste effort as far as the Police Packs goes.

I gave that guy my official info direct from Holden and he never used it. If you read properly you'll see that he uses the same descriptions right through the series.

The compliance plates on the work cars now designate 914 where once 9C1 was stamped.

9C1 is the Police code for the VE, it's printed on the option chart that was pulled off all the sites about month ago?
