So there is only one grill for the series 2 calais:'(
Yeah. So changing the grill means changing the bumper as well.

Cover the chrome with vinyl wrap.

If you don’t like the look of the Calais, sell it and buy a different model.

You can fit any of the grills, you just have to fit the matching bumper.

So if you want an SS grill, fit the bumper.

Cost up a bumper respray and if you can get it done for $600 and the bumper cost, it’s going to add up fast.

Better to drop that coin into something else.
SS bumper cover is around $450 from Holden. It’s about $450 -$500 to have it painted.

Wreckers will probably have them cheaper...
If you can find a good one it will be around $275. Issue is a SH one is around $1000 to get painted. So you're no better off. I bought new because it was cheaper overall.

Ask him how he knows.
Yep, I was given an estimate of $1000 to paint mine. It was cheaper and better to buy new. Sanding a bumper cover is hours of work and is just not economical unless you have pretty well perfect one, which can be roughed up and blown over. 2k once it starts going is a massive job to prepare for paint.
My $1000 estimate would have blown out to a fair bit more. I was estimated $350 to paint my new one, that ended up being $450 IIRC.

Although the E1 bonnets are different, you can make do with using the Chrome strip from a S1 Calais. They aren’t cheap anymore.
