Checking for a vacuum leak with smoke is the only way it can quickly be ruled out really.

Depending on where it is, will depend on how it affects various things. It’s possible the ECM is able to adjust things within set parameters to compensate and therefore no code is set.

Thanks mate
I have had all of these areas tested using brake cleaner type method but not smoke and no disruption to how motor would run.
Is it worth just replacing the valve of the brake booster which I haven't thought about doing.
Surely this would be a cheap and easy valve to replace I would of thought.
Then it would rule out if the valve was faulty.
What do you think ?

Nope. Smoke test v brake cleaner or similar doesn’t compare.

Does your V6 have a vacuum pump fitted?

I had this exact problem when I bought my VE 2010 and it was a vacuum leak that was causing it. The engine ran fine though even from start up. Took the mechanics a while to find it as it only occurred when the engine was cold, I.E. first thing in the morning.
