if you go back to your first post in this topic and click edit, you can fix the caps issue
topics in all caps suggest you are more important and are shouting at others
Done. How about the error codes messages? does this count as shouting?

still shows as all caps to me
if that is how the codes are displayed then so be it
most codes are trying to get your attention

Hi guys, Happy new years.

Just to keep every1 updated I have successfully changed the VIN on the replacement headunit and it worked fine. No tech 2 required. Read the dumps out of the headunit eeprom, change the VIN to the car VIN put it back in the car and Boom! No more security lockout active, radio works as it should. hope that helps

How are you reading/writing to the eeprom?

Regretfully i didn't take photos! To show how its done. But it isnt as hard as it sounds.
Steps as follows:
1- Take the headunit out
2- Take the Fascia Cover plate only!
3- Locate the EEPROM ( on the left hand side when looking at it from the front ) “D810”
4- Use SOP Clip and clip it on the eeprom “firmly”
5- Use ur eeprom programmer ( I used CH341A
6- Make sure it connected to the PC
7- open the programmer and choose the eeprom type which its ( 24C16)
8- Read the dumps ( make sure you save the dumps before making any changes! )
9- Locate the VIN slot on the dumps and Change to the car vin.

Just asking, although I do have an eeprom programmer at home I don't think many other users would.
