I'd recommend you listen to Arthur

And as said further up in the post as honesty is not your number one priority at least doing as Arthur said should be your second

WTF guys...

It was a general question...

Why do all of you think that i am rorting something or other???

People have no faith in other people any more...

Surely i am not the first person to do this nor the last?

The question was legit as i wanted to try out a few things without the speedo connected.

Technically, you cant....
There s no speedo sender cable.
The speedo signal is be virtually generated by the ABS wheel speed sensors.
Disabling all these would disable ABS, Traction Control, Stability Management, as well as log many many error codes, and make the car un-drivable....

Maybe if you explain WHAT it is you are trying to do people may be a little it more sympathetic.
You should be able to understand, with the limited amount of information you have provided, people are very dubious about the reason why you would want to do this...

I cannot see a single legitimate reason, so maybe you can enlighten us as to WHY you would want to do this ????

This would have to be of of the dumbest things I've heard.... no you can't disconnect it, your car car wouldn't go anywhere without a speed signal cos the trans wouldn't know what to do with itself!

Please explain to us what these very specific, yet unmentionable things you are attempting to do that require you to remove the speedo from your effectively brand new car? I can say I have never thought that any situation required me to drive around in my VT with no functioning instrumentation.

Please enlighten us.

And remember, the reason we have no faith in you, is because what you're doing is violating the warranty of your car, the law and putting yourself in danger should you be able to actually start your car after "tinkering".
