VE SS split engine covers?

anyone had any luck in finding some correct fitting split covers? Read that the VZ 6L ones fit with a little fiddling. But I’m thinking of cutting up the factory covers as the clips will still be retained after cutting.

cut the centre section from mine, put in a bit of mesh (supercheap) just made up 2 brackets to support on the outer sides, mount to coil stud and small S/S bolt hold it steady on cover

Yeh i ended up cutting the middle out of mine. You say you made more mounting brackets, weren’t the original ones sufficient?

My old man painted his the body colour then cut out the middle sections on his and put some steel mesh in place of that, looked pretty good actually.

That’s not bad, I’ve already got the grinder out on mine though! About half way done with my covers.

Is specific heat proof paint required when painting these ?

I’ve bought high temp paint just to be safe. My engine bay gets ridiculous hot due to my un coated extractors.

went this way with the VF. expensive but i liked them

Unfortunately for me having walkinshaw on them didn’t work. They are pretty much what I was after too!
