mine has a rattle in there some where as well but cant find it. i have pulled it apart and even pulled it out and it still rattled. if you open the sunny holder and look up at the front inside the sunny compartment you can see a screw hole but no screw, if i push up there the rattle goes away, im going to see if i can get the screw and screw clip to go in there. i havnt seen a commodore with the screw but have seen a pontiac workshop manuel and they have one.
to pull it out, just pull down from the front where the lights are, it is in there pretty tight and you will think its going to break but it will come out.
pull from the sides at the front as i pulled mine from the very front face and broke the front tabs of the clear light cover, cant tell its broken but i know it is.
hope this makes sence.

Broke the cover -_- lol, ill take it for a drive tomorrow with out it in and see if i can't here a rattle. Played with the bulb to mistake lol.

The sunglass holder in a taxi is going to be different to a standard dudes omega. There sunglass holder would have had a button the driver presss of he his under stress. A small light will then come on, and passing taxi drivers know there buddy is in need of help. Had to to do 300 taxis at my old job. Being an electiecian can be gay hah

Joking or for real? Never would have suspected, still don't understand the black roof lining?

Black lining is most likely to minimise hand prints when drunks mash at the roof...

Same reason mum trucks tend to have chocolate hand prints on the roof - kids though, obviously - not so much drunks in this instance... welllll.. depends on the demographic really :hmmm:

Yeah tinny is one the money with the roof lining. If some drunkard decides to pop a handstand n chuck a shot, it won't be to noticeable over the dark colour.

...SS-V has 40,000kms on and ...the parcel shelf rattles when you put the volume up even a little. I hat that everything is clipped together its not as good as good ol' screwing!
No rattles in my VE since I cut up a brand new $1 car wash sponge and forces pieces under the parcel shelf. This rattle only appeared after the sub went in the boot. Other than this, no rattles that I haven't created. I can always find something lose in the glove box or doors that explains the rattles

Same here, just packed foam in. My sunglasses holder was doing my head in for a long time, one day just ripped it out and stuck foam under it. Rattle gone. I also had a very annoying door rattle. A cable had come loose, fixed it back in and stuck some foam behind it and no more noise. Still one more rattle to find, somewhere near the passenger front seat. What's a Commodore without a rattle!

I've removed the whole overhead console as described in a video.
Then placed 2mm cardboard in the gap between the metal clips and the plastic piece it sits inside of. I did this to the four clips at the front of the overhead console.
I then stuck a 5mm sticky foam that you use for blocking gaps in windows to a metal piece hanging down from the roof inside the area where the sunglass console goes. This sticky foam can reduce to 2mm when it is squashed.
Placed the overhead console back and Voila no rattle.

Awesome.
