I have a Holden commodore VE 2007
Cluster show message contact dealer
Keys turns lights on cluster comes on but engine not cranking

Replace second hand ecu did diagnose still same problem

Changed bcm, and key chip still no crank

Radio still the original

Bought ecu kit from eBay

Need assistance can someone advice what to do
Why change ecu bcm, did you check battery and possibly starter

The auto electrician checked battery is ok with full voltage

Replace new starter

When we.do direct strat the motor turns but with key it doesn't crank

stop throwing parts at it, use a multimeter and find what is happening
does the crank relay get energised when you attempt to crank
is trans in park?

Might be a long shot but this was happening to me. I kept having to jump the car to life and one time I went to hook it up and the positive jump terminal under the bonnet felt really loose. So I tightened it up and it's been good as new ever since. Worth a try?

Hi Guys,

Hate to bring a buried thread back but I am having the exact same issue as the original post. Car is a 2011 VE S2 SS-V Ute

It first happened 2 weeks ago when I lost speedo/tacho etc. I got abs fault, stability fault, airbag, contact dealer and check engine light on the dash.
I managed to limp the car home and did some research on here. I thought I had fixed the appropriate earth issue as the problem went away and didnt come back until a couple of days ago.

Car has now again displayed the fault codes on dash and now wont start, not cranking at all. Problem can be intermittent, over this weekend I have managed to get it started half a dozen times and dash will work for 30 seconds tops before restarting the welcome/loading screen. Other times engine wont even crank.

I have tried to find all earths in the engine bay. jumper lead point, engine top to bracket behind brake abs module, drivers side chassis rail below brake booster. Are there any other points that I've missed to check. Haynes manual mentions a FR and RR chassis rail earth. Are these both under the bonnet?

I have connected scan tool (Toolpro branded cheapy) to the obd2 port and can connect to the ECM. I get no fault codes and I can read VIN off of ECM so this leads me to believe that it's still okay. I've checked every fuse in every fuse box and all seem to be okay.

I think I'm chasing a bad earth somewhere but can't seem to be able to find it. I've got the cluster apart and both LH and RH kick panels apart and have checked all earths there. They all were okay.

Battery is brand new. Current static voltage is 12.4, I've put the charger on it now.

Won't crank at the moment. Charging system output was in the 14s two weeks ago

check power after fusible links at battery cables,
under load. while trying to crank
