RACQ have no idea what is wrong with it. They said it's going to have to go to a mechanic. I have free towing up to 21kms in diameter from my house. I want to take it to someone that isn't Holden to fix it. They said all plugs are in, no fault codes read and the timing chain is fine. It started and the guy said it sounds like I am getting firing out of the upper inlet manifold.

Fingers crossed it is only a cheap fix.

I don't have a clue WTF is wrong with it, never heard a car sound like this. It sounds likes like a squeal in the engine when I get it to start.
IN the engine? Or the belts maybe?

I think it probably has a vac leak and the noise is probably a belt.

Will it idle on its own? Ie Will it continue to idle if you take your foot off the gas?

Can you get it to continue to idle using the gas pedal?

Check for sanity sake that your oil is at the full level and your not running ridiculously low oil.

I am not sure exactly but sounds like the engine and not a belt. And at the top of the engine and/or front

Throttle plug on right side of throttle and MAF plug, both were put back on.

Heaps of oil. Was replaced with Penrite fully synthetic oil and oil filter replaced. Fuel level is about 33% and coolant is about 75%

I have to give it huge amounts of pedal just to get it to actually tick over, and when I do is when it makes that horribly loud noise and idles for about 10 seconds with my foot on the pedal, chokes and dies.

Why did he need to remove those plugs? Did he attempt to clean the throttle body?

I dont think you can reset a VE ECM by simply disconnecting power from the ECM as it uses EPROM which retains data even when power supply is removed.

We were going to take the upper inlet manifold off to change the plugs but didn't bother doing it.
