I saw a few of that guys video (more quality that than the usual pimp my VE vids) and that one yesterday.

Sounded a pretty scary event

Surely with the cost involved, wouldn’t ya just buy a VF if you prefer the look of the VF?

Sure, it'd be possible! Judging by what Picnik did, you'd need:
  • Bonnet (including hinges)
  • indicators/DRLs/Foggies
  • Guards
  • Headlights
  • front bumper cover
  • front rad support
  • Radiator clips
Only thing I could see you having issues with is sensors related to the SRS and wiring differences with headlight and fog light connectors, but that's nothing that grabbing those connectors from a broken VF front end loom and/or your existing bumper parts and making adapters couldn't fix if that's an issue. Wiring in the factory DRLs if you intend on going to an SS/SV6 front end would also have to be factored in too.

Afaik, VFs shared only a few colours with VEs, I know Phantom Black and Heron White are identical from VF to VE (and indeed most GM cars), But in saying that, i'd take the opportunity to get new paint put on fresh panels. Although, the cost would be bite your arse expensive to do if you go with new panels.

Kinda sucks that the wags got rolled. Afaik wasn't he about to pop a massive blower on it?

Headlight plugs are the same as VE. Drls can easily be wired in using the info from the DRL mod thread in the VF section. Bonnet hinges mount differently so if getting stuff from a wrecker see if they can cut the mounts off the body for you.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Don’t do what old mate did. Get the hinges weld back on by a panel beater.

He has since done a VE rear end to VF front end on VE conversion.

They were given a new VE shell to rebuild with so it’s all a bit of the tipped over plastic chair.
