I'm not a fan of chrome ... but I'm not sold on the parallel lines in glossy black on the black car either.
I think I prefer the SS grille on a black car; the above are much-of-a-muchness for me.

yes I agree. I think the whole SS front looks better. but an SS grille won't fit my calais

I don't prefer the bottom one ... it wouldn't be worth the effort of changing, for me at least.

On a black car I would go with the standard grille. Maybe consider plasti-dipping the fog lamp top accents to black.

My car is Prussian Steel and I think the thick upper slat makes it look weird. The thinner chrome on the lower slats look fine to me. Maybe someone with photoshop powers can help us visualize what the standard Calais grille would look like - with just the top slat in black.

They seem to be going for a matchey-matchey look with the Insignia VX-R ... Insignia's a slightly odder proportion, but the grilles are near identical.
Maybe they thought they'd put more effort into selling Insignias here than they ended-up putting in?

Me neither. But I’ve turned mine into a pretty special Calais, with 317kw and a howling sound-track

I don't know how that would work as I think it would look odd because of the chrome surround on the outside of the grill.

youve done a good job with that car.
I'm just looking at tune for now using stock exhaust and air intake.
Hope to tick that off in the next few months. Brakes first.
