I’ll consider a EV as a daily beater when I can grab one in decent (battery) condition for under $10k on the 2nd hand market from a manufacturer that’s not state owned by the CCP… as my current daily beater was only $3.5k.

So probably never…

They haven't even done half the job yet. I'd never ever consider any EV without built-in solar charging capacity. Can put some wind turbine chargers in brake and cooling duct vents too while they're at it.

By the time the EV’s from not-CCP-land, and which’re being released this year-ish, are as old as said beater … taking inflation into account of course, they’re likely to be a similar value. I reckon this COVID inflation thing is on the way out.
