UPDATE:

Just installed on way home a genuine throttle body (silver flap one). Was exxy but seemed to drasticly reduce the surging issue. Seems to still play up occasionally when it’s idling and you roll away without throttle. But in general driving it’s much better. Early days but hope this sorts it.

Prob need to strongly think about low diff gears now. Maybe a nicer shifter too one of those ripshifters perhaps.

Make a video of your rev counter so we can see what's going on. Might be the best bet

I’ll see how we go of the vid. Tech ain’t my strong suit. No post photobucket pics. Don’t even have Facebook.

Yes I’ll prob do the 3.9 diff and rip shifter post new year to round out the package.

Bumping this.

I am about to cam my Calais.

Anyone else got this cam?

Any other contenders I should consider?

I want good manners, prefer low and mid range power delivery, and a idle you can tell has a cam, but subtle..... no pig rooting

A tuner is suggesting 223/228 on 114 LSA with 580/588 lift.

The super stock has a broad LSA but massive overlap. Seems strange?

Hey mate, apart from the superstock, gm also have a stealth cam. It shouldn't be called stealth but it sounds very cammy as well.

I have the superstock and it's great. Car heads know its cammed, just not hugely
Mine drives like a dream and has a lovely hard thumping heartbeat.
