Hello,
I want to install AC on my VK which has an LS1.

I purchased castlemaine rod shop AC bracket and compressor.
https://www.rodshop.com.au/high-mount-air-conditioning-ls1-ls2-ls3-engines
This Kit Uses the Sanden 508 Type Compressor

Now i need to purchase the condenser and receiver drier.
Do i just buy standard VK condenser and receiver drier?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1736623...MItqLVhbrvgwMVn6RmAh2KHwTlEAQYAyABEgJQgfD_BwE

Also where do i go in Sydney area to purchase a pipe kit?

Thanks
Muzza

You need to get a A/C shop to install the piping, technically any A/C work needs to be done by a licenced A/C shop.
They will make all the hoses and lines to a custom length and swage the fittings on ect.
Unless the A/C compressor is in the exact same location and uses the exact same fittings custom hoses and line will need to be made.
It's quite simple to do it for an A/C shop.
The A/C shop will be able to sell you the condenser.

It will be easier if the VK had AC as an option when built, you should be able to marry the LS compressor into the VK dryer/condenser & dash switch. I’d replace dryer when making the new hoses.

Yes. But if it didn't have A/C there's aftermarket evaporators available.

thanks, you are right on the license its for the gas only, however anyone can cut a pipe to size and crimp a fitting, its not rocket science.

Hey Mario, I just went to an “automotive” AC specialist with a measured bit of string noting what I wanted & they made up the hoses, then once together I drove it back & got it re-gassed. I can’t remember the place exactly but was somewhere near Alexandria. You definitely need AC in Sydney with all that glass in our VK’s.
