for anyone who cares - this is the leak testing process - add some soapy water in a spray bottle = fun bubbles where leaks are at!

Get in the ute
Well - I found my vac leak - turns out one of the boost control solenoids was plumbed up backwards, bleeding air out from/into the intake manifold.

On the up side, the inlet is pressure tested to 50+psi, and I'm happy with the fact I can actually remove the manifold/supercharger/etc assembly with the engine still in the bay! - yay for service-ability!

Front wheels are back on & machined, no scrape-age!
I've sorted out the pulleys and belt for the belt arrangement -just need to space the supercharger pulley out a little with washer or two!
Intake manifold is ready to go back on - just waiting for some studs to arrive

Will get everything back together for the weekend - do some base tuning, annnnd I've booked some dyno time to get her ramped up and see where everything is at! - not going for big power just yet - will be happy with whatever it makes on 10-15psi to keep things safe for now... it's all about working out how well the new setup is playing ball, when to bypass/engage the supercharger, how much % effort supercharger vs turbo and it's effect on intake temps & exhaust backpressure... etc etc

Once all that stuff is sorted out and I'm happy (plus used to driving the car again lol!) - I'll start winding it up and melting tread. :) - sooon!!!

Hooray for updates! With such a large project one would expext some things went on backwards by accident. You've motivated me enough to go down to the shed tmr and finish off the strut rebuild.

Dyno done!....

Nothing blew up, caught fire, leaked, or escaped!!
The setup WORKS! - it sounds & feels healthy - great success

Made 285rwkw first time out on the dyno. Running 21-ish PSI

AFR's are a bit rich, it's using a bit too much supercharger (charger makes 17PSI of HOT air if left to it's own unmoderated devices!!) There's probably little bit more power to be picked up with these issues fixed.. - and more again with the engine + head combo that didn't come bog stock from the wreckers ;)

Car feels VERY strong on the street - I suppose it's been quite a while since I've driven anything comparably fast..... it also feels VERY grippy compared to the last setup/car!

So next up is all the "niceties" - idle control valve, cold start, compensation for thermo fan... etc....

and THEN - I'm going to take a break from working on it and enjoy it for a little while :)
