VR 2 1/4 Exhaust fit VN Vacationer Wagon?

G'day,

A mate of mine has just invested in a 1991 VN Vacationer Wagon. Unfortunately, because he only paid $250 for it, it's not roadworthy. It needs a new exhaust and a tidy up of a small oil leak (I believe).

I have a VR S1 Executive, and I was wondering whether my stock exhaust would fit on his car? The main problem would probably be the length of the chassis, cause I'm pretty sure both the cars are live axle.

Any help would be appreciated

Dont quote me on it mate but I believe that vn-vs sedans and wagons were all the same exhaust, so as long as your vr isn't a ute then I think you should be ok (but im not 100% sure on that so dont just do it by my word) lol good luck with it anyways

Hi Timboy....Just the other day i tried to fit up a vp sedan rear resonator section to my vp wagon ,it was a no go. I didnt try the rest of the system on it tho. Maybe the front section will? cheers...Bedman

Cheers guys. I took it over to him yesterday and had a quick look, and it looked like the pipe from the cat was the same, but the tailpipe looked a little short. When he tries to fit it, I'll post back up and tell whether it fits.

No, it won't fit. The sedan front section is 100mm shorter and the bends over the axle on the rear section are completely different.

The wagon has a longer wheel base (there's an extra bit behind the rear doors to the wheel arch) so it's exhaust pipe is longer so none of the sedan system will fit your wagon except maybe the engine pipes if the VN has the later type of engine in it (like the VP).

So cutting and altering your stock exhaust is not an option?

You can shorten the front section but the rear won't even come close.

Btw, that VY SS exhaust that you were eyeing off (Nathan) definitely won't fit cause VY's had IRS across all models and yours is a live axle wagon... lol
