Hello everyone, this is my first post, not sure if it's in the right spot my bad if not, I'm in the process of doing a head gasket on a 97 vs 304 statesman international , does anyone a gregory manual with torque specs for a vs, I have searched online and throughout this site and seem to only be able to find vn heads spec and vt and have notice they are slightly different any help would be appreciated, I'm in above my head but willing to try dig my way out

It's the same across the engines.

They're iron really you could rattle gun them and it will run. but don't.

Thanks mate, so this should be sweet, this only mentions 2 stages of torquing for the heads, I was under the impression it needed to be done in 3.

I read the your spec sheet. It has 3 torque setting for tightening the head bolts.

Hey mate, my issues is it mentions vn vp and vq in 3 stages. 1- 47 to 53. 2 - 67 to 73 3- 91 to 102.

But for the vr vs it only has 2 stages of torquing 1 - 50 to 55. 2- 77 to 83.

This is what is confusing me, I don't want to over torque and snap bolts, or under torque cheers for the reply

Use the VN spec (unless you have a roller motor, then use VT. But 97 shouldn't be roller).

Maybe these will help

Excuse the misprint in this manual
