VS Statesman
VU - VN to VS 304 (except VSIII ute and Statesman with 179kW engine)

VM - VT 179kW plus VSIII ute and Statesman 179kW. Also VSIII ute and Statesman with HBD 195kW engine
VS S3 (late 98 to early 99 only)and VT 304 179kw were VM prefix. 195KW were VN prefix. VT 220i prefix is VP.

And numbers don't always line up easily for chasing parts, especially with the VS111 model.
Although in my case it was a v6, they couldn't figure out what parts were required even with the engine number from factory, as it matched an earlier set of digits, but required the later model spares.

The other possibility could have been it was a Friday build.
My VZ has 2 engine numbers stamped on it, as they accidently doubled up somehow. Could always have been an error like that.
Unless there was an engine swap.
However I would say EYY is pretty spot on with the prefixes.
