It should be done in this order.

1. Search for topic.

2a. You find a topic
Should you post:
If the thread is recent/active? Yes
If the thread is dead? No

2b. You dont find any topics
Should you post a thread? Yes

1997 SS VSII Commodore
G'day all.

In laying the groundwork for dropping an L67 into my VS, I am upgrading brakes, suspension, etc.

Need to know what I would need to do to upgrade to VT brakes.

* Are VT and VS hubs the same? i.e. could I whack VT rotors onto VS wheel hubs? If not, are there adapters available?

* Can I use existing brake lines and add VT twin spot calipers by just swapping them over?

* Is the VT master cylinder any larger than the VS one?

What I'd like to do is buy VT rotors and calipers and just swap them over. If I need any other hardware than just those things, please let me know.

Thanks!

EDIT: typo
hey y'all, since w'ere on the topic about the VT brake upgrade kit, I too have a 97 SS Comodore and a 97 VT1 Clubsport, and since my SS VSII is the car that needs more stopping power, I want to know if it's asimple a matter of bolting right in? And because the "VT Big Brake Upgrade" is so common amongst Holden enthusiasts, are the brakes in the VT1 the same as VT2, or on par performance-wise?

Bolt in? Kind off.

You'll need the calipers VT-VY, service/overhaul them. New conversion rotors (the VS has a smaller diameter wheel hub) DBA do VT style rotors to suit VS hubs specifically and some brake hoses. But (and this is the important part) you also need to fit the brake booster and MC from a VT-VY to go with the calipers. Unfortunately the booster is not a direct bolt in job, you either need to modify your original brake booster bracket (not my preferred choice) or a new mounting bracket but I'm not sure if anyone supplies those any more in NZ.
