Is this an obsolete Alarm Switch?

Could it be used for lighting or are there easier routes?

Thanks in advance.

Interesting statement.
Our 2 VZ's have the same switch still wired with earth wire same as door lights.
So for the time being, I must assume the switch is still part of the alarm system.

Easy enough to unscrew it to find out.

if you have another horn on your left hand strut tower then it is part of the factory alarm

So back to this switch again. Wanting to put some lights in the Engine bay, and hoping to utilise this switch. Anyone have any ideas where/what these two wires lead to? I think I can see at least one of them coming up into the fuse box in the engine bay. I was hoping to find an empty plug. I'm aware some models do have engine bay lights standard, if this is true, where are they located?

Leave the switch alone.
Buy an LED lighting kit with a switch built in.
