Don't trust who ? Me lmao I hve been thru it for months n I was simply speaking from experience after months of paying for scan after scan n getting nothing n I didn't tell him not to scan it I have up my own personal experience as I'm going thru it n been thru it don't judge others because someone else led U up the garden path n you followed commen sense would make everyone stop n think U can't just throw dollar after dollar at a car n hope it fixed the issues ..... Ideas n past experiences of others r the idea behind these forums as to help others

99 out of 100 if cel comes on a code will be stored
these cars are not obd2 so many scan tools cannot read them
bridging diagnostic port 5 and 6 with a paper clip will flash your code
vx are four digit codes, 10 flashes equals zero
so a 10, 10, 1, 2 would be 12
as mentioned you either need the code or other diagnostic information
throwing parts ,sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you spend way more than needed
as on any forum, the advice you get is worth what you paid for it
