Did you put sealant on the water pump bolts on assembly? If not, it will leak like a sieve.

I usually add the sealant to the thermostat housing too on assembly.

Two pass again from the workshop manual:

Water Pump To Front Cover Bolts 14 - 18nm
Water Pump To Cylinder Block Bolts 20 - 30nm
Water Pump Pulley Attaching Bolts 10 - 16nm

Here is another ? Or two. I live in the country and the supermarket is 13 Ks away. So l just usual dawdle along and sit on 80 or so. My dash temp gets up to mid to late 70 degrees and the temp needle barely touches the first mark on the dial. So ? Is, is the ok

Missed a word. Sealant on the thermostat housing bolts as well as the water pump bolts.

And don't forget to bleed the air out of coolant system.

Made a start, there was a slight leak developing on the bottom of water pump too. The bolts were quite easy to undo also, due to not tension them up

Pics have to be under 2MB in size.
You can resize them.
So the coolant that came out was just like it was new out of the bottle. No discolouration at all. I am thinking that can not be right, so clean ?
 
Top
