Alright i dont know of a way to prove this reprograms the ecu but i read it in a manual and it sounds pretty logical.

1. Turn on the car and warm it up until its running at its normal idle
2. Then turn off the car and disconnect the battery for at least 5 minutes
3. Reconnect the battery and close the bonnet
4. Start your car BUT DONT TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR
5. Let your car idle for about 3 or 4 minutes, then turn off car and restart again.

Your computer should then adjust to give you the best mileage.
