What would you do..?

Hey Guys,

I have a VY 03 with 180,000km's to date.
I recently got pay rise at work!! (Yay!)
And i figure best way to spend my hard earned Money is on my car..

This is how i plan to do things.

Step 1.MANIFOLD INSULATOR 12MM and 12mm PLENUM/MANIFOLD SPACER
Step 2.HIGH RATIO ROLLER ROCKERS maybe Ultra but i don't know if it would fit on a basic V6? Don't have an L67
Step 3. CROW CAMS TO SUIT V6'S WITH HIGHER RATIO ROCKERS

What do you guys think of that plan? How would you do it differently?!

Current Mods -
Full exhaust (Pace maker Extractors)
MACE CAI

but your plan sounds good if you want to keep it, i wouldn't do much more

IMO just get the cam and not the rockers. A cam that is suitable with high ratio rockers is a good idea if you already have the rockers, but if you don't just get the cam.
Ultra's will fit on an ecotec.

Yeah that's my plan to keep it for another 2-4 years and then upgrade to v8 or super 6 depending on how the economy is going

But rockers will do just as much with Cams as well won't they?

You will probably be looking at a similar power increase for high ratio rockers + cam to suite when compared to just a cam (that is not designed for high ratio rockers) so why not just save some money and just get the cam?

Good place to start. Consider adding a cold air intake.

We only recommend the 1.9 high ratio rockers for the VY models with the 5/16" push rods due to clearance issues.

If you wanted to go with a cam it may be better to leave the high ratio rockers and go for a Comp Cams cam as the gains will be better then with the high ratio rockers/ crow cam to suit. If you get a cam you will need to have the engine tuned to suit fortunately we can now supply tunes to suit our cams for the VX/VY models.

Its a start. Other items to consider would be:

Holden re calibrated computer / pcm to suit VY V6
82 degree thermostat
69mm throttle body

If i got the Comp Cams the PCM is included isn't it? Or is that something else..
I heard the Thermostat is more for Supercharged VY's?

If i got the Comp Cams the PCM is included isn't it? Or is that something else..
That kit includes it the PCM

I heard the Thermostat is more for Supercharged VY's?
More noticeable on super 6s but works well on ecotecs

Throttle body is on my list too .. Just looking for best bang for buck
