Will Kia Stinger really flog an SS?

Would you be happier in a KIA?

VF Redline Sedan - A6 Spitfire MSE...
Drivingbon the Monaro highway ATM. Have counted in excess of 20 VF's so far. Most VF2's. Including the Sportwagon I'm in.
Zero Swingers.
Will the Kia flog the VF, even the humble SV6? Not in sales figures it won't.

It depends on where you are.
There are areas of Sydney where you might wonder why Holden stopped making Commodores here, ‘cos every 5th car is a Commodore. Where I am, I pretty much know all 5 Commodore drivers in the suburb & surrounding ones by sight, as we’re such a small group. :)

Admittedly not seen a Stinger locally though. They’re apparently not discounting yet; just like Holdens, I doubt many people have quite grasped the concept of buying a KIA at full price ... let alone paying over $50k for one.

I was driving a VFII SV6 down the Sturt today, terrific car, made for the occasional unsealed road excursion in 40° dry heat.
Coming into town via Elizabeth honestly still 80% Commodores, rest trucks of some sort. Seems the Korean copycat / crossover offerings are far from winning over outer urban / part rural yet.

Well given that real Commodore is dead, KIA would only need to sell one 2018 Stinger to outsell real Commodores.

The comment was more a statement about tangible / visible saturation of the car’s legacy obviously dominant in current ‘real’ use, vs potential sales penetration marketeering hocus pocus.
Point being just because the Aussie made Commie is no longer in production, I think it is puerile shitstirring to call it dead or irrelevant.
Unless of course you’re one of smarmy ex-Holden snake oil salesmen now wearing Great Wall or Kia snapbacks and vested interests in some Asian bankrolled venture to capitalise on the living dead.
Gung Hei to the plethora of Sino vultures, I think death of the Commie (at least in terms of current regos where I live) is largely exaggerated in order to further all the new car BS.

No Stingers in my street on the NSW Central Coast.

I'm the only person in the street that owns a Commodore, a couple of years ago there we 3 others but they have now been traded for Korean makes.

I've only seen one Stinger and it was a one off sighting.

Though still plenty of Commodores on show when I go to the shops but if you look at them as a percentage of the vehicles around they are fairly thin on the ground, it's the SUV's that are by far the king here.

On the subject of New Car BS, I watched this today and realised the extent to which VW Audi, who claim to produce “the most accomplished, fast and fun cars in the world” actually commit global crimes against humanity (and monkeys). I mention this because yes, most guilable new car buyers believe that crap about the VW Audi, when in fact the company is a despicable body corporate full of arsehats, pitching mountains of bullshit that diesel (at 40x the safe limit) was actually a breath of fresh air, with technology only VAG, BMW and Daimler can produce:

They sound no different to all the other multinationals I've been employed with over the years.

I'd probably feel at home working for them.

Yeah I'm at Lane Cove - think the only 2 VFs in the suburb are my neighbor and me. Good to be in something special!!! Downside is no local specialists for service.

I saw a stinger on the road nearby the other day. Looks OK. Biggest issue for me would be cleaning up all the vomit in the back seat because kids have no hope of seeing out the stupid upwards swept rear door windows.
