    Do you have the correct cap? It should say 135kpa on it. The radiator cap is designed to release pressure when the 135kpa limit is reached. If you have the wrong cap it can build up pressure an pop off your hoses. If that's not the problem you may need new hoses and hose clamps.

    Under the bonnet, near where the lock is I think, there is a pin. Like the pins inside your door that active the interior light. I think there is a problem with this pin. The alarm with be activated when this pin is grounded. I think water is getting in and grounding the pin.

    There is definitely a locking tab and there will be a rubber seal inside the connector to stop water ingress. I find these rubber seals can make it harder to get off. I would find out how it unlocks and try prying it with a screwdriver.
