Pretty much everything except the block is different.
Crank (so i have read anyways)
Rods
Pistons
Balancer
Cam
Balance shaft
Heads (they are the same but ECOTec does not have the injector bosses machined out of the cast)
Injectors
Wiring loom
Tune
Intake manifold (Exh the same)
Sparkplugs
Coil pack
Leads
Rocker covers
Alternator

I believe the following are the same:
Timing chain and cogs
Rockers
Throttle body
water pump
Front cover
Sump
O2 sensors
Most other sensors
AC pump
Engine mount brackets
Valves
Powersteer pump

One has a Supercharger and the other doesn't.

But seriously,

The Air intake tube is longer on the L67, and the L67 came out with an OTR cold air intake. Accelerator cable is different but my ecotec on still works alright on the L67 (just had to bend it around a bit more).

Fuel pump, the ones that Repco sell are suit both ecotec and L67 (same part number), but if its genuine then I think its different.

And if I think of anything else that was different when I done my conversion ill post it up.

Hmm.. This rebuild may be harder than I think..
Supposibly the L67 has 4 bolt mains.

It's not really 4 bolt mains in a sense. They have 2 bolts holding the main cap in vertically thru the top and 2 smaller bolts thru the sides. They are quite a simple engine really, I rebuilt mine in my garage and I'm a sheetmetal worker lol

Im 90% sure Ecotecs have 4 bolt mains too , but the rear main is till only a 2 bolt on both.

Its far easier (if possible) to get your hands on a complete L67 engine and go from there.

Plan was to rebuild to gain more experience (apprentice diesel mechanic) but from all this. It might be harder.
I already have the charger, fuel line, pulleys, ecu, rockers and heads.
Thinking of going new interrnals anyway just to have it fresh.
But would the crank fit the eco block?

The cranks a bit of a mystery to me, some say its different others say the same. The Vy ECOtec also got a better crank i hear too, from what ican work out the ECO crank is not as strong but you can still use it (the same stroke and all that jazz).

If you could source new rods and pistons youll be in business.
Might be time to hit L67torque and quiz some of the gurus.
