I too don't mind either name, what I don't like is the justification in the news.com.au article for the switch between the names.
with all honesty when you think of Peter Brock do you think of the Australian Touring Championship victories or do you think of the Mointain Victories?
don't get me wrong I agree with you.

Yep, I agree with you too. "Too blokey" FFS! Brock is synonymous with Holden, Bathurst and ATCC in my view.

Magnum Ute production started toda

Good news Super Coach. Things are starting to hot up.
Out of interest, how long does it take to make a Commodore? If day 1 is pressing the metal, day?? is it being driven off the line.

Bodies are made days before the car actually gets to final assembly. Below is the production history of my MY16 Redline. That was when they were building cars at a faster rate and also included Cruze bodies. Things might of slightly changed now, but would still be close to my timings. My target build date was 31/8/2016, so as you can see the production of my car started 3 days before the actual target build date.

Wednesday, 24 August 2016
– Exited Body Shop at 1:57pm (my car body was assembled that day)

Thursday, 25 August 2016
– Paint overheads at 7:30am
– Entered Paint Shop at 2:15pm

(Long gap because factory didn't operate on Friday and it was the weekend, also I optioned the black roof which kept my car longer in Paint Shop)

Tuesday, 30 August 2016
– Exited Paint Shop at 11:00am
– Entered General Assembly at 1:30pm

Wednesday, 31 August 2016
– Exited General Assembly at 10:43am
– Entered Final Assembly at 10:50am
– Wheel and Headlight alignment at 10:54am

– Care, final fit up of panel alignment at 11:07am
– Water test at 11:18am
– Rattle and Squeak test at 11:19am
– Vehicle validated, exited Final Assembly at 11:20am
– Delivered for GCA (Global Customer Audit) at 11:30am

Thursday, 1 September 2016
– Exited GCA at 3:00pm
– Delivered to HEC (Holden Enhancement Centre) at 4:00pm

Friday, 2 September 2016

That's quite amazing. Less than 2 weeks into the dealership once the shell is ready. Thanks for the info.

Guys check out this video of Jethro loving the VXR8. It really summarizes why I bought a Motorsport Edition (a VXR8/GTS is ultimately very similar).
"Over long distances there is no better car, it really is superb"
"It doesn't get boring, it somehow always puts a smile on your face"
"Fun for every situation. These days that is just so rare"

VE SSV Z Series M6
I don't mind either name. Bathurst for the history and emotion, Motorsport is more complete / dimensional (commy's have done so much more, than race at Bathurst). Originally I would have said Bathurst, hands down.
The name might attach itself anyway. Like the HK GTS 327 became the "Bathurst Monaro".

IIRC from an old TG episode, the VE GTS in Vauxhall guise was called the Bathurst (or Barth Hurst as Jeremy called it).

Maybe that had an impact on the decision for the name.

I also believe the "Bathurst Monaro" was so called coz it was designed to race at/win Bathurst. Sadly, those days are looooong gone.

EDIT: Here we go - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=vauxhall+bathurst

MY17 LE Director....
I've settled on SOAG Director with Black fender vents & 6.2 decal. Will look to add Opticoat, tint & HSV springs to lower after delivery

It's still a long wait for Sept delivery

Anyone know how much the HSV springs are and how much it lowers the car by?
