Ive overhauled the master cylinder on the vc and bled the brake but I still have and ordinary pedal and crap stopping power
What gives?

booster working correctly?
MC seals in the right way??
front rotors adjusted correctly?
hoses checked for stretch?
did you bleed from LH rear forward?

I think you've got unrealistic expectations of how a VC should stop, they are absolutley terrifying on a good day.

Drum or disc rears?

Pedal height low or not?

The standard disc/drum or even disc/disc set up isn't as good as later model Commodores or cars for that matter if you are comparing the VC to a later model car.

It is advised to upgrade to a VT front set up to start with to help with braking

It’s got discs front and rear
The pedal has to be almost on the floor before it pulls up

Still got air in system or brake hoses are stuffed if they're old.

Think Race Brakes sell braided & normal hoses...Burt Brothers might be worth a drive to get them to have a look at it if you're out west.

My vh sle had really nice pedal feel despite massive cam for some weird reason it braked better than my vp ute with bigger brakes & less weight lol
