Have done diagnostic test= does 12 and 76
76 "Air/Fuel ratio variation between left and right banks"
What is next best step?

Re manuals - mine is the Haynes one when I checked the inside cover.
Doesn't have page numbers. only sections.

I just reset the diagnostic by removing engine fuse, turning key on and off and replacing engine fuse.
Now only showing 12, even after trying to start engine without it starting. Still won't start and no spark across secondary coil. May try poring water over the CAS unit and see if engine starts - is that a good idea - have seen it mentioned only a few times as a way of testing CAS.

you cleared the faults, after trying to start recheck the codes... the cas normaly breaks down when its get hot and pouring water cools it down quicker

Have tried starting - won't start but does turn over.
Rechecked codes : 12 0nly + all is fine
Battery at nearly 13 v
Oxygen sensors or manifold gasket are the likely issues consistent with this?
Have seen references to a scan tool on forums etc.
Is that likely to pinpoint problem for me?
Or am I better testing for the 2 possibilities above?

if there no faults there is only 2 thing i can think off that causes a engine not to start, fuel or spark

oil pressure switch could be on the the way out, this will cut power to the fuel pump to save your engine.

that or fuel pump

Codes don't always show up unfortunately. Probably gonna be a process of elimination. Have you got a mate you can borrow a coil pack from.
