2 examples to add to the ecu debate:
I have a wideband gauge with an output wired to the (stock) ECU and can check datalogs with WB vs load vs rpm - paste to a spreadsheet with calcs and get new VE values to upload.
I can also live tune from the passenger seat while someone else drives.
Years ago I used to sell aftermarket Thundermax ECM's for Harley's. They have 2x wideband sensors, and the ECM auto tunes. But they also recommend after X amount of hundred km's that you turn off the widebands in the tune.
Ie: once the VE tables are set, you are then only ruining your tune with sensor wear etc.
I am supposed to calibrate my O2 sensor/gauge every 6months (which is probably again due)
