cam is a wade 1069/clive 233

lobe lift in/ex - 0.296/0.296
duration @ 0.050 in/ex - 222/222

i got more specs on the other computer, ill try find them soon.

ari, i was a bit concerned maybe the o2 sensor is buggered? also, whats an easy way to check for an inlet manifold leak?

the tune could be slightly out of range for the o2 sensor to correct but it would have to be way out on the ve for that too happen really too rich will make it lope more and by the looks of them plugs shes not fully lighting up properly add some timing LOL

WARNING: Cam followers must have good surface finish and correct radius.
Lubricate well, avoid high RPM for the first 2 hours.
To avoid coil-binding, after the tappets are set, check that the valve-
spring can be compressed at least an extra .050" after full lift has
been achieved. This will stop the valve springs from binding

Degreeing Your Camshaft Using Lift At TDC Method
(For Pushrod Engines)

First you must establish Top Dead Centre accurately. Once TDC is achieved, with
camshaft in Place insert a Cam Follower into number one Intake Lifter bore.
Now place a pushrod onto that cam follower and mount a Dial Indicator so it is in the
same plane as the pushrod.
Make sure the cam follower is on the heal (bottom) of the lobe and Zero the dial
indicator.
For chain driven camshafts, rotate the camshaft in the same direction of Crankshaft
rotation until the lift at TDC stated on your Cam Card is achieved. Now you can
install the chain and sprocket set.
For gear driven camshafts such as Holden 6cyl, the camshaft will rotate in the
opposite direction to the crankshaft

WD40 my friend, is the be-all and end-all. spray it in little squirts any/every where. if there is a leak you need to pay attention to the motor. (it will need to be running) if there is a manifold leak by spraying it in the right spot, it will wither drop or raise revs depending on its current running condition (rich or lean)

sadly it is much better on carb motors cos' all the sucking comes from above, but it should still work on efi's (in theory)

whats the over-all lift of the cam cos' .296 and 222 doesnt seem to me like a cam that should affect your idle that much. it'd be a bit lumpier, but shouldnt be enough to make you wonder wtf. wanna swing by the worshop tomorrow? you havent seen my new build yet :)

i think so. spec sheet is a bit hard to read in that format.

thanks for that ari, might try the wd40 around the front and back of the inlet manifold. youre right too about the lumpiness. its changed it slightly, but its not mega lumpy that its going to turn heads everywhere
