Power steering pump (Done the ffs, this is different hear me out :-)

Thanks for the replies, I had been looking for the noise after I had taken the car for a drive, on further investigation the next day when the car was cold realised it is intake noise... I am rather stumped as to why the intake makes so much noise when the car is cold, but that is where my noise...

Power steering pump (Done the ffs, this is different hear me out :-)

All my searching revels end play is common, but I don't have any... What I do have when pump is rotated slightly back & forth is a small clack clack noise. Is this normal as I am chasing a cold start up noise which proving to be rather difficult to find (sounds like a bearing pulley rumble, but...

Replacing the wiper motor water deflector.

Good luck finding a new one, second hand ones normally have some cracking as they are rather thin plastic & not easy to get off without damaging. Black silicone sealant is your friend for this job.

    vs series 1 manual

The clutches in them are heavy to operate, that is normal, unless yours requires 2 feet to push down :-). When reassembling fit a new rubber boot to the clutch fork if missing/torn & check the fork is located securely or the fork will make a squeaking sound too. If your bearing noise is when...

    cleaning spark plugs

Word of caution on sand blasting plugs... Make sure no residue is trapped between the ceramic & outer electrode, that's a good way to damage your bore. Bead blasting is "apparently" safer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you will find the T5's run a cable operated clutch, & the Get ya self a rag has Hydraulic.

Under the steering wheel, if it has a drivers side air bag (and I aint talkin about ya missus in the drivers seat) then take the appropriate precautions, we don't want to hear you blew your head off! True they have tabs that wear down, last owner of my car must have driven in circles... one...

VS Commodore Handbrake button flying off...Help please.

If the button is flying off there is likely to much spring pressure, someone may have stretched the spring to counter a sticking button. If refitting it causes the ratcheting mechanism not too function I would think your spring is not seating properly. Try refitting it making sure your handbrake...

VR Commodore unsteady RPM when past 3k

If I understand correctly your revs are stable, but your Tacho is not? The Tacho gets its signal from the Brown wire in terminal E of the DFI unit (about the 5th wire along from the front of the unit), perhaps a loose/dirty connection at the DFI is the problem as would be easy to distrub this...

VR Wont Crank, Starter Clicks. Seized?

If you can get the crank to turn it isnt seized. Put a power bar on the crank bolt if it turns your ok. It is possible your battery has seen better days, the ticking you describe sounds like the starter soliniod trying to switch power to the starter, if there is not enough current or starter is...

    Code 94 & a jerky fuel Gauge

Hi guys, getting the above code on my manual VS V6, now my speedo works fine, so I figure it must only be an intermitant fault. The code has only popped up 2 times in 5 days (have only been on short trips though), are these speed senors known for failing or could I be looking at a wiring issue...

Lube up th rear of the strip where it slides in behind the rest of the trim with crc & open the passenger door, a carefull tap foward (sometines can just be just pushed forward) will remove it so you can work on it off the vehicle. Boot Leak - Where?

I had water getting in to the tyre well, & it looked like it was from rear quarter window, however turned out to be a bad install on the rear spoiler, trouble with water is it will track along metal seems, wires, rubbers etc sometimes it appears to defy logic. will this go away

I used to machine disks a few years back, this on off feeling you describe is typical of a disk incorrectly machined with runout, my guess is there was some crap between the machine where it was mounted to the disk, this would cause it to cut the disk slightly out of round & due to some movment...

Well this is the plan... My VS has a shot Live axle diff, non ABS, but the wheel bearings are near new. My wifes VR which has ABS & a Live Axle has shot wheel bearings. So plan is (if it will work) put a whole new unit into my VS, remove axles from my old diff & fit to the VR, obviously I would...

Yep as above the boot can hold fluid, careful pulling the boot back they like to squirt... Alarm/Central locking problem

Squeaking rear right wheel while driving

In short yes. If the pads cant move freely in the carrier they will constantly rub against the disk slighty generating heat, polishing the disk & hardening the pads. Remove the panel around your shifter, put a dab of silicone sealant on the thread after tightening it properly, then it wont unscrew in use. & yes it will handle any heat produced.
