you'l need to know this .. to drain radiator , their is a blue plastic socket 1/2 in on drivers side under radiator which penetrates black plastic cover , , undo & drain , don't over tighten , to refill & bleed remove small hose clamp on small hose passenger side radiator , fill radiator...

for those contemplating.. tried the Utube methods ..toothpaste fail ....baking soda white vinegar..fail the sand paper method worked , 800, 1000, 2000 grit with water , buff with rubbing compound using drill wool buff pad , polish with car wax , 1 hour for each light .

Are the engine mounts the same on both sides ve2 2011 , and how many hours work to replace.? thanks in advance .

Faulty battery can cause all sorts of problems in this model , try and borrow a battery and try that before anything .

When using E10 , i noticed there is different octane ratings for it , so I buy from Puma or United which advertises higher octane levels . my wagon has 210 k on it and I get 8.9 l/100 on a trip from Gold coast to Coffs with a Mal surfboard on roof and sitting on 105 kph , which is ok , the speed...

200 thou km then after that its a lottery ...mostly due to sludging caused by emission controls, , the old Buick VT VY are longer lasting motors . Mines done 210 thou and is on its last days with noisy top end on start up .. Having a gear box that you cant monitor oil levels or service easily...

Check gearbox for leaks may have run out of oil ...they are a sealed for life box so hard to check oil levels ..if it was mine i'd get it to a auto trans specialist asap .

same problem rattle while at low speeds going over rough roads , nothing on hi way , and zero vibration .....

would end up being a $$$ bucket , better off with a Camery at those kays , whilst a nice car to drive some how GM lost the plot with VE motors , the old VY Buick motor was good for half a million , if that motor was in a sports wagon ..... we wouldnt be having this conversation .

common problem with VEs are the actuators behind the dash , the gears strip out , result in air flow locking in 1 position , this MAY be the cause, its a fiddly replacement job( under dash drivers side ) but doable for the DIY type . plenty of info on here about the problem /fix .

update passed the test ok , no different than originals .

try pushing the dual zone auto button , then adjust temp/ fan speed / switch to reticulating mode, seems to work on my VE 2.

Even the later models have timing chain issues when milage gets high like over 250k , my dealer( Holden) told me to sell it at 200ks as its a lottery weather the engine lasts ...!

common to VE's , rings on finger can cause this to happen , GM dropped the ball on quality & the rest is history .

I wouldn't buy a VE , mine has bad build quality , mostly interior , get a later model .

Yep have to look around pillar have had close calls , the Sports Wagon is bad for blind spots , side mirrors are useless . GF Merc is bad for piillar blind spot .

Try gently levering off its, held in with clips , note mine came off when roof rack came loose & just gently pressed back in .

Just had mine done 800$ and its still using fluid ... They went through the wiper area , they left 2 white marks on windscreen where the wipers sit as a relocation point which was a good idea .

thanx for the post , a lot of work to replace a fuel pump , do you think it would be feasible to (carefully) cut your own inspection plate given that earlier VE s had them ..? The burnt plug is a bit of a worry ...how can GM get away with that ...?

yep others have had problem with seatbelt holding seat down , some one posted a way out of it .....

my faulty touch pad caused this to happen , changed it out with JayCar switch fixed it ...altough on rainy day it may not settle back into original position until a few cycles .
